《Quantitative Biology》流程与教程
在当今的大数据时代，生命科学研究日益利用大数据产生新生物假说和模型，以基因组学、蛋白质组学、高分辨成像为代表的生命大数据的类型和通量更是日新月异。越来越多的生物学研究基于这些大数据得以从定量和建模的角度深刻地理解生物过程和疾病的调控机制，进而帮助个体化精准医疗。为此，如何高效、准确地处理和分析这些生命大数据就变得至关重要。
然而，大多数生物学研究主要关注科学问题，对所使用的数学和统计模型(Mathematical and Statistical Models)、生物信息学方法和算法(Bioinformatics methods and Algorithms)、数据分析流程(Data Analysis Pipelines) 和软件 (Software) [MAPS] 描述不够充分，导致领域同行无法完全理解和正确使用已发布的方法、算法和软件，使这些重要的数据分析方法和模型不能得到广泛应用。
为此，Quantitative Biology（QB）期刊特别新开设了一种文章类型：Protocols and Tutorials（流程与教程）。该类型文章主要围绕大数据驱动的生物学研究中使用的数据分析模型、算法、流程或软件（MAPS）进行系统、深入的描述。我们希望该类型文章不仅可以帮助作者更好地推广他们的分析方法、算法和软件，还可以帮助生物信息学和生物学读者顺利学习这些数据分析步骤和教程，有效地指导自己课题中的数据分析任务。该专栏由北京大学李程研究员作为Section Editor。欢迎大家积极投稿。

1. Title section (Title, Running Title, Authors, Author Affiliations and Correspondence)
2. Abstract
3. Introduction
4. Materials (Please include a list of essential materials used, such as any special equipment or computers, company website and product code of reagents.)
5. Protocol/Tutorial (A numbered list of data analysis instructions is preferred in this section. Public data sets and analysis outputs such as figures and screenshots can be used to illustrate the protocol. If the protocol should be broken into several separate stages, please use subheadings and resume the numbered list.)
6. Discussion (summary, limitations and possible future developments of the MAPS)

《Quantitative Biology》(QB)期刊是由清华大学、北京大学和高等教育出版社合办的全英文期刊，主要刊登计算生物学、系统生物学和合成生物学的前沿进展。由清华大学/美国德克萨斯大学达拉斯分校张奇伟教授和北京大学定量生物学中心汤超教授担任共同主编，清华大学北京信息科学与技术国家研究中心生物信息学部主任张学工教授担任期刊执行主编。此外，QB还邀请了40余名国内外知名领域专家、学者组成编委会，保证刊物的高学术水平。自2013年创刊以来，QB以网络版和印刷版两种形式出版，全球免费下载。目前已被SCOPUS, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), Google Scholar, Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), OCLC, Summon by ProQuest等数据库收录。
